Type 11: Liquid Fish Extract

Description

TasKelp liquid fish extract is an organic fertiliser which provides trace elements, nitrogen and amino acids which are vital for plant growth. It is made from the filleted trimmings of human grade wild fish.

Liquid Fish Extract is able to be used as a soil conditioner before planting, provides organic food for soil bacteria and worms and increases plant ability to take up trace elements and nutrition from the soil. It can also be used as a spray. When applied to leaves, it can increase plant resistance to chewing and sucking insects.

Liquid Fish extract is also suitable for native plants as it is high in phosphorous and the available nitrogen is present mainly as amines not nitrates.

When added to soils, liquid fish extract, breaks down slowly and allows the soil to absorb healthy microbes, encourages worm activity and increases soil nutrition. Application via foliage allows rapid absorption of minerals and nutrients.

Suitable applications:

Home gardens, vegetables, broadacre crops, pasture, orchards, vineyards, pre-planting reparation, stubble digestion and fertigation.

How to use liquid fish extract

Please note:

Always spray test sensitive plants before full application.

Avoid spraying before harvest.

Avoid application in full sun or above 22ºC. Early morning or late afternoon is best.

Use prepared solution within 24 hours.

Stir or Shake well before use.

Do not use with potassium humate or other highly alkaline products.

Wash hands after using product.

Not for human consumption.

Dilution rates for application:

Home Gardens: 50ml liquid fish extract per 9L water. Apply every 2-3 weeks. Coverage:  1L per square metre.

Vegetables: 1L liquid fish extract per 100L water. (up to 5L/Ha or equivalent). Apply to foliage weekly.

Orchards, Vineyards: 10-12L liquid fish extract /Ha or equivalent. Apply every 3-4 weeks or as required.

Pasture 10-12L liquid fish extract/Ha or equivalent. Apply early Autumn and late Spring or as required.

Broadacre crops: 2-4 L liquid fish extract in 60 -100L water. Apply as required.

Soil Drench for preplanting (bare soil): 10-12L liquid fish extract per 100L of water.

Stubble digestion:10L/Ha after harvest. Best results when stubble is broken down into the soil.

Fertigation: 15-30L liquid fish extract /Ha. Apply weekly or as required.
